101 In The Shade At The Fifth Annual Cigarette Owners Rendezvous

Produced by Performance Boat Center of Osage Beach, Mo., the fifth annual Cigarette Owners Rendezvous kicked off today with some remarkable numbers. First and foremost, 101 owners of Cigarette V-bottom sportboats and center consoles registered for the event, according Brett Manire, who co-owns the full-service multi-brand powerboat dealership with Mark Waddington. Second, the high temperature today at the Lake of the Ozarks was an unseasonably cool 78 degrees—three years ago in June, the event saw daytime highs in the mid to high 90s.

Traveling on business in Europe this week, Cigarette Racing Team owner and chief executive officer Skip Braver was delighted to hear that registration for the event had topped the 100-boat mark. That makes this weekend’s happening the largest gathering of Cigarette models in one place in the history of the company, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

“That number—101 boats—is unreal,” he said. “It shows the power of the Cigarette family. I have to thank all of our customers for making Cigarette into what it has become. We are even stronger today thanks to them. Like our boats, our customers are a vital part of the Cigarette difference.”
