2015 Go-Fast Boating Season Gets Official At LOTO

Despite that the actual first day of spring happened almost two months ago, the first “official” day of the 2015 season for go-fast powerboat owners who frequent Central Missouri’s Lake of the Ozarks kicked off this morning with a Fun Run organized and hosted by Performance Boat Center. According to Brett Manire of the Osage Beach-based new and pre-owned performance-boat dealership, service and parts center and year-round storage facility, the event attracted approximately 35 boats.

“Everything was excellent,” Manire said. “It was pouring down rain early this morning, but then the clouds broke and the sun was shining. We did about 50 miles—nothing broke and the water patrol left us alone. It’s been a really cool weekend. We had one customer with a 38′ (Fountain) Lightning we just sold come up, another with a 46′ Outerlimits we sold and another with a 46′ Skater.

“The boats are being parked at the docks right now,” he added. “Now we’re back at Performance Boat Center firing up getting ready to have dinner for 150 people.”

Next up for Performance Boat Center is supplying yachts and turn boats for the Lake Race on June 5—Performance Boat Center is the title sponsor for the event. Two weeks later, the company will host the 2015 Cigarette Racing Team Rendezvous, the first-ever official Cigarette-owners-only event to be held on the lake.
