Andy Biddle and Tracy Blumenstein won’t have much time to celebrate their P1 SuperStock UK national championship as they’ll be racing in the next round of the USA championship in Cocoa Beach, Fla., this weekend.

American racers Andy Biddle and Tracy Blumenstein did all they needed to do last weekend in Torquay, England to secure the national championship in the 2013 P1 SuperStock UK Championship.

The New Jersey teammates, who raced the MBY Allam Marine boat in all three rounds overseas, took a cautious approach into the weekend’s five-race series showdown on Torbay. The tactic paid off as the duo finished 11 points clear of the second-place team in the P1 Marine Foundation boat.

Biddle and Blumenstein won’t have much time to celebrate the title as they’ll be racing in the next round of the P1 SuperStock USA Championship in Cocoa Beach, Fla., this weekend.

“We worked on the math for the weekend’s packed program of races and our No. 1 aim was to keep out of the mix and pick up points in every race,” Biddle said after picking up the first part of his goal to win a national championship in both the United Kingdom and the United States.

Like the American pairing, Welshman James Norvil races on both sides of the Atlantic and the busy schedule seems to have paid off with him recording his first P1 SuperStock victoy in the opening race of the weekend and then following up with three runner-up finishes in P1 Marine Foundation. The consistent performances saw him climb to second place in the 2013 points standings.

Finishing third overall in the Pertemps boat was John Wilson and Daisy Coleman, who won three of the fives races in Torquay to stay ahead of the Oval Team of Nick Williams and Martin Robinson, which ended the season in fourth despite a hat-trick of podium finishes.
