Bid Your Hearts Out

Few of you remember the first Speedonthewater.com Party at the now-defunct BurgerFi restaurant in Key West, Fla., six years ago, because few of you were there. That was by design, as speedonthewater.com co-publisher Jason Johnson and I hosted the event to thank 50 or so of our advertisers, particularly supportive friends and family members.

We opened the party to the public at BurgerFi the following year and quickly discovered—the hard way—that we needed a bigger venue with a lot more bartenders. In 2015, we moved the party to the Smokin’ Tuna Saloon, a more spacious venue just off Duval Street. We loved that space, but it wasn’t quite right.

After the 2015 event, Greg Harris, a South Florida-based real estate agent and longtime friend approached us about partnering in the next one with Offshoreonly.com. Harris is a veteran moderator for the popular online high-performance community and Johnson and I produce and publish most of its home page editorial content. Working together seemed like a good fit.

But it hasn’t been a good fit—not even close. It’s been a great one.

Bio-Kleen’s Tracy-Lynn and Tim Kowalski don’t just donate raffle items for the party ever year, they attend the event.
