Brand X Adding Brokerage & Sales Business

Adding to his go-fast-boating repertoire, Jason Ventura, the founder and president of Brand X Hi-Performance Marine in Pompano Beach, Fla., is partnering with his good friend, Rob Stanley, on Brand X Brokerage & Sales. The new business venture, which goes hand in hand with Ventura’s one-stop service shop, was established to provide Brand X customers the opportunity to sell their current boats and find new ones through an extensive and resourceful network.

“I’ve been in the middle of many boat sales over the years but I’ve never been involved in them from a business standpoint—up until now thanks to this deal between Rob and I,” Ventura said. “We don’t plan to broker any boats that we don’t have any knowledge of and, more than likely, the boats we’ll be dealing with will be boats we maintain. In that case, we may end up gaining a customer as well because the boats we have here don’t normally leave.”

Ventura, who has built a remarkable reputation maintaining and setting up boats for some high-profile clients, including Pure Platinum owner Bill Pyburn, said the company’s main goal is to make the sales process as hassle-free and cut-and-dry as possible.

“Jason and I have known each other for a long time so it’s cool to be able to work together like this,” Stanley said. “We’re going to start small with most of our listings being in-house boats. Our focus is to make the paperwork as streamlined as possible. Chasing paperwork is the biggest complaint we hear regarding buying and selling boats, and we’ve got a system that is going to make everything so much easier. We’ll even be able to send files electronically for signatures.”

Stanley, who lives in South Florida, said Brand X Brokerage & Sales is proud to be affiliated with the YachtCloser.com site, relating it the MLS system for the housing market.

Some of the boats currently for sale through Brand X Brokerage & Sales includes a Donzi 38ZR, a Nor-Tech 36 Supercat and an Active Thunder 37′ Excess.

“Yachtcloser.com is pretty cool, particularly because it’s going to allow us to reach more potential buyers and help us find the perfect boats for our current customers,” Stanley added. “Having all the forms on one site also should make the whole process smooth. I’ve been around the boat business off and on since 1996 so I’m excited to be involved with it again, especially with someone who is so respected.”
