Bravo Shop Relocating to Lake of the Ozarks

The manufacturer behind the durable BMAX drives, replacement Bravo outdrive parts and more, The Bravo Shop Inc. is anticipating big things with its relocation to Missouri’s Lake of the Ozarks. Owner John Pfahl expects the move from the company’s Union, Neb., facility to be complete before the end of the year.

After purchasing the land and starting construction in May, Pfahl said the 10,000-square-foot shop should be operational by December if all goes as planned. And while he sounds excited to be closer to a large portion of his customer base, Pfahl admitted that getting used to the new location is going to take some time.

“When you pick up and move your business and your home and the place you’ve been for 50 years, it’s going to be a big change,” Pfahl told me when I ran into him on the docks at the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout. “Business-wise, we’re trying to get to the next level. We have a lot of customers at the lake and we’re going to be part of a great boating community. We’re excited about the possibilities.”

Located in Kaiser, Mo., at the convenient intersection of highways 54 and 42, the new location includes neighbors such as Lightning Performance Group, Mastertech Marine Service and Straightline Canvas.

With the shell of the building complete, The Bravo Shop recently started the interior framework for its new facility in Kaiser, Mo.“We’re hoping our community becomes a one-stop shop for a boat owner,” said Pfahl, adding that The Bravo Shop will have facilities to service boats along with winter storage options. “We’ve started on the interior of the building and the parking lot. We’re hoping to have all the equipment moved in and ready for production by December.”

On a side note, The Bravo Shop announced in August that it has newly engineered towers and clutch shafts available for the X, XR and XZ for Bravo outdrives. The new parts reportedly boast increased strength over factory parts while keeping costs down.

“We’ve had many customers complain about the dependability of their existing Bravo-style drives, so we set out to engineer a cost-effective way to improve the strength and reliability of these vital parts, and based upon test results and customer feedback, we’ve succeeded in a big way,” Pfahl said in a press release.
