Brunswick Corporation And Mercury Marine Honored For Innovation

While Mercury Racing is still in the thick of the “Coolest Product Made In Wisconsin” competition with its supercharged 450R V-8 outboard, Mercury Marine and parent Brunswick Corporation were honored earlier this week during the annual IBEX marine industry trade show in Tampa, Fla. Soundings Trade Only, a well-established media outlet that covers the marine industry, honored Mercury Marine and Brunswick Corporation with its annual Top 10 Companies awards.

Products including the Mercury Racing 450R outboards earned Mercury Marine and Brunswick Top 10 Companies awards from Soundings Trade Only.

According to a Brunswick press release, the contest judges cited the award-winning Mercury Racing 450R outboard and the Sea-Ray SLX-R sportboat as two innovative models released this year. They also noted that Brunswick acquired the Freedom Boat Club, which opened its 200th location last month, and “praised the company for its commitment to sustainability and diversity hiring.” Trade Only editor Michael Verdon praised Brunswick for its commitment to innovation and demonstrated focus as a marine only company.

“We are honored to win this award and thankful to Soundings Trade Only and the judges for selecting Brunswick Corporation & Mercury Marine as the Most Innovative Company for 2019,” said Dave Foulkes, Brunswick Corporation chief executive officer, in the release. “This has been a transformative year for our company as we continue to redefine the marine industry. This award is a testament to the hard work of our more than 12,000 employees around the world who are committed to fueling our passion for innovation and inspiration on the water.

“Through a heightened level of customer involvement and empathy, we are fostering a design-driven culture and are forging best-of-class strategic design partnerships,” said Foulkes. “We believe that we are now positioned as the company that uniquely defines, creates and continuously innovates the future of recreational boating experiences. With the momentum fueled by the strong market response to these design-driven offerings and our Company’s transformation, Brunswick looks forward to the future with excitement and enthusiasm.”
