Buffalo Poker Run Lands Live Pre-Event TV Time
While most of the boats for tomorrow’s event are just coming into town for the 23rd annual Buffalo Poker Run in Western New York, organizers Tony Scioli and Steve McKie were already out on Lake Erie earlier this morning working with CBS affiliate WIBB for a live segment of “Winging It! Buffalo Style.” The program, which features local happenings and highlights, comes on after the regular morning news. Though it aired live less than an hour ago, the segment will be available to watch after 3 p.m. online by clicking here.

Scioli and McKie were joined by the show’s on-air personalities for a morning cruise on Lake Erie in Hot To Go, a 36-foot Eliminator Daytona catamaran with twin 1,200-hp engines The cat is owned by Rob Shupping and has been the paceboat for the run for the past five years.
“We took them up to about 100 mph, and then stopped awhile to do an interview,” said McKie. “They wanted to know about the basics of a poker run. They asked Rob a lot of questions about his boat, you know, things like what makes it different from a regular powerboat or cruiser.”
The seawall in front of Templeton Landing is beginning to fill in with boats for tomorrow’s run.
More than 30 V-bottoms and cats have arrived so far. Current registration stands at 111 entries.
“Most boats will get here between noon and 5 p.m.,” said McKie. “Registration starts at noon and ends at 11 p.m.”
