Cigarette and AMG Take Concept Collaboration To Highest Level Yet

Four for years, technology and marketing partners Cigarette Racing Team and Mercedes-Benz AMG have collaborated on exotic and elaborate automobile and performance boat parings. From the first 50-foot AMG Cigarette released that was inspired by and styled to match the stunning AMG SLS Coupe, to the proof-of-concept AMG SLS Electric Drive Coupe and a 38-foot Electric Drive Top Gun combo, the two companies have continually raised the bar on cross-breeding—and cross branding—what Skip Braver, the owner and chief executive officer of the Opa-locka, Fla, sportboat and center console company, calls “luxury lifestyle products.”

With this morning’s side-by-side unveiling of the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo Concept car with a 577-hp V-8 engine and the Cigarette Racing 50′ Vision GT Concept Marauder powered by twin Mercury Racing quad-overhead cam, 1,650-hp turbocharged engines at the Miami International Boat Show, the two companies have outdone themselves once again. What’s more, the super sports car has been incorporated into the new Sony PlayStation®3 racing game called Gran Turismo®6—one of the most popular video games of all time.

Priced at $1.5 million, the unique Cigarette Racing Team 50′ Vision GT Concept Marauder is the most powerful model offered by Cigarette Racing Team to date. Top speed is estimated to be 140 mph.) On the attention to detail and craftsmanship sides, two cornerstones of what Braver calls “the Cigarette difference,” the handcrafted interior is black with black Alcantara accents, and uses carbon-fiber dash panels inside the boat with silver face gauges. User interface technology is also maximized with Bluetooth, computerized controls, four high-definition displays, and the next generation integration of Garmin and Cigarette navigation and audio.
