Cigarette Offering ‘Behind the Scenes’ Tour

While Cigarette Racing Team won’t be displaying its latest and greatest sportboats and center consoles at the 2013 Fort Lauderdale Boat Show this year, the Opa-Locka, Fla., custom boat company will be offering a rare opportunity for visitors in the area during the same time frame. From Thursday, October 31, 2013 to Sunday, November 3, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. the company will offer a “Behind the Scenes—’The Cigarette Difference’—Tour” of its state-of-the-art facility. Tours will be conducted by appointment only.

Cigarette Racing Team will offer private tours by appointment at the end of October.

It will be the first time the company has opened its doors to the public in any significant way under the ownership and leadership of chief executive officer Skip Braver.

“People want to come here all the time, and 99 percent of the time the answer is no,” said Braver. “People who sign up for the tour will get to see firsthand how the boats are finished, because where and how the boats are made are just as important as the final product. If you put our facility up against any custom high-performance boat facility in the world, you’ll get a better understanding of what we call ‘the Cigarette difference.'”

While Braver said he had been considering pulling out of the Fort Lauderdale Show for some time, he added that the company will have its traditonally impressive and popular display at the 2014 Miami International Boat Show in February.

“Miami will be a big show for Cigarette,” said Braver.

Asked to elaborate on that statement, Braver declined to comment.
