Cigarette Racing Team Hosting Late-Summer Rendezvous

Cigarette Racing Team will host a rendezvous in Destin, Fla., at the end of this summer. The event will be limited to the first 40 Cigarette high-performance powerboat owners—and their guests—who sign up for the event. Cigarette will provide all the food and cover the dockage fees for the three-day event.

“Everything will be first class,” said Skip Braver, the owner and chief executive officer of the Opa-Locka, Fla., company, in a telephone interview yesterday afternoon. “Like the boats we build, the quality of everything at this rendezvous will reflect ‘the Cigarette difference.’

The summer-end Cigarette rendezvous will be limited to 40 boats.

“Between the boat owners and their guests, we anticipate having 100 people attend,” Braver added.

The actual dates for the event have, which will be headquartered at the private Olympia Resort—a list of preferred hotels with special rates for the attendees will be provided—have yet to be determined. Proposed dates are August 31 to September 2 or September 28 to 30. To finalize the dates, Cigarette is reaching out to its customers. Interested Cigarette owners can vote on their preferred dates by email their choice to rendezvous@cigaretteracing.com.

“We’ve been wanting to get all our friends and customers together for a while and the end of summer seemed like a good time to rally in Destin,” Braver said in a press release from the company. “This is the first time in a long time that we have planned a party strictly for Cigarette. We are all always so busy, doing open group events during the season and boat show parties. We thought it would be nice for Cigarette owners to get together on our own for a leisurely weekend where we can say ‘thank you’ to our customers and introduce some people who may not have had the opportunity to meet at area events.”
