Countdown to Key West: 5 Brothers Grocery Expecting Tough Stock-Class Competition

Ryan Beckley, the manager of the DoublEdgeMotorsports team in Bradenton, Fla., is once again looking forward to competing in the Super Boat International Key West Offshore World Championships next week. Beckley, who will be throttling the 5 Brothers Grocery 30-foot Skater Powerboats catamaran alongside driver Tanner Lewis in the Superboat Stock class, knows what it takes to survive in Key West.

Ryan Beckley and Tanner Lewis are looking forward to racing the team’s 30-foot Skater in the 34th annual Key West Offshore World Championships.

One of the more experienced racers in the outboard-powered-cat class that’s loaded with experience, Beckley is expecting some stiff competition.

“It will definitely be an exciting class with the three wide Doug Wright cats—HULK, Talbot and SOS Venezuela—as well as the Pilar team, Risky Business and possibly the Victory Team’s boat,” Beckley said. “With that many experienced teams, we hope to run hard and finish well all three days—and truly hope for a podium finish.”

Beckley added that the team’s primary sponsor for the world championships—5 Brothers Grocery and Sandwich Shop in Key West—is onboard again as are several Key West local businesses, including Curry Refrigeration, KINO Sandals, Florida Keys Electric, Key West Bait & Tackle, Wayne Deck Realtor, Hog Fish Grill, Island City Flying Service, Tropic Supply and Ruud, and longtime supporter Ronstan Paper & Packaging.
