Countdown to Key West: Newest 34 CCX Models from Sunsation Set for Poker Run

Just this week, the crew at Sunsation Powerboats tested its latest 34 Center Cabin Xtreme model, which will be taking part in next month’s Florida Powerboat Club Key West Poker Run alongside the previous 34-foot center console to leave the company’s Algonac, Mich., factory.

The latest 34 CCX to come out of the Sunsation factory will be part of next month’s Key West Poker Run fleet.

New owners Jim and Lynn Archambault of Atlanta purchased the 34 CCX that is powered by triple Mercury Verado 300 engines through Captain’s Choice Boats in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and plan on enjoying every minute of their new ride during the run from Miami to Key West.

According to Sunsation’s Joe Schaldenbrand, the owners of the previous 34 CCX to leave the factory—Court and Jessica Wittich of Covington, La.—will be doing the poker in their boat, which also is powered by a trio of Verado 300 engines.

“Key West will be the first run for the last two boats out of the factory—that’s kind of cool,” said Schaldenbrand, who added that longtime Sunsation customer Craig Mytelka is doing the run in his 34 CCX, too. “We should have some good representation in the poker run on and off the water. We’re sponsoring it so we have dock space at the Conch Republic. The Wittich’s boat will be parked there.”

Once again, Sunsation, along with two of the company’s dealers (Doller Offshore and its newest one, Unriehl Sunsation), will have a boat—a new 29 CCX to be exact—on display in the poker run village.
