Countdown To Miami: Cigarette Teaser No. 3—‘Why Six?”
As noted in a previous speedonthewater.com story, Cigarette Racing Team is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. That’s a big deal for any company, much less a high-performance sportboat and center console builder. But then, the Opa-locka, Fla., company is not your average high-performance powerboat builder.
Why six? Because seven wouldn’t fit
Given the first photo teaser and the more recent video sizzle reel, it’s a safe bet to most careful readers that Cigarette will debut another Cigarette-Mercedes-AMG stunner as well as a new model of its own. That bet got even safer with today’s image release dubbed, “Why six? Because seven wouldn’t fit.”
So what current model in the Cigarette line can handle six outboard engines? That’s a rhetorical question, of course, especially for fans of the brand who know the 42 Huntress maxes out with five outboards on its transom. And based on beam requirements alone, a six-outboard sportboat obviously is out of the question.
