Crazy Chicken and 2nd Amendment Prevail in Manufacturer Classes on Final Day in Key West

With a win today in the third Manufacturer-class race of the 2015 Super Boat International Offshore World Championships, the Crazy Chicken/Babcock’s team of driver/owner Dee Early and throttleman Anthony Silveria didn’t just nail down a trifecta this week. Pending official confirmation from SBI officials, they won their third Manufacturer-Class 4 World Championship in a row.

“It was a great race—there was some bump out there,” said Early. “We had three- to four-footers out there, which is our kind of water. And Tony did a great job setting up the boat. We took some weight out of the nose because we thought it was going to be flat, but it didn’t matter.”

Running their 36-foot 2nd Amendment Spectre catamaran in Manufacturer 3 class, throttleman Neil Wobbe and Karl Steger also finished in first place for the third time this week. Pending official confirmation, they will depart Key West with the 2015 Manufacuter Class 3 World Championship.

The rough-water conditions predicted for today have yet to materialize.

The Superboat Extreme-, Vee- and Stock-class races are scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. As noted, all results reported are unofficial pending final verification from SBI.
