Cutsuries Named Skater’s National Sales Manager

Industry veteran Tony Cutsuries, who started his career in the high-performance powerboat industry in 1998, has joined Douglas Marine/Skater Powerboats as national sales manager. Based in Greenville, N.C., the 42-year-old will oversee sales of all Skater models though its current dealers.

The new national sales manager for Douglas Marine/Skater, Tony Cutsuries has been in high-performance powerboat sales since 1998.

“Tony is a breath of fresh air for us,” said Peter Hledin, the founder and owner of the Douglas, Mich., custom go-fast catamaran and V-bottom company. “I am glad to have him on board. I think he’s going to set a new standard for us in sales and marketing.”

Before joining Skater, Cutsuries was in sales and marketing for Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats in Bristol, R.I., and prior to that he worked in factory sales for Fountain Powerboats in Washington, N.C. He began his go-fast boat sales career at National Marine in Ohio and eventually moved to Lake Cumberland Marine in Kentucky.

Cutsuries’ immediate tasks include overseeing the “revamping” of the Skater website and marketing materials. “We need to get everything modernized,” he said. “Peter is very old school, but his boats are not.

“Peter doesn’t want to mess with the sales side, he just wants to build boats,” Cutsuries continued. “Of course, he has a few longtime customers who will still go to him directly.”
