DCB Unveils Second M31 Of Desert Storm ‘Delivery Season’

In no small way, the three-and-a-half months leading up to the Desert Storm Poker Run (April 24-30) in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., mark the beginning of delivery season for DCB Performance Boats. By the time the event, which includes a Thursday night street party with the most massive DCB display of any given year, is complete, the El Cajon, Calif., custom high-performance boat builder will have delivered no less than four new catamarans.

Ordered through Lake Havasu City-based Horizon Motorsports and Marine for a customer in Denver, Colo., an immaculate M31 Widebody catamaran powered by Mercury Racing 700SCi engines with No. 6 drives was delivered this week and is the second M31 finished this year. According to DCB president Jeff Johnston, the cat tops out at 130-plus mph.

Boasting a Phase III gelcoat theme, the half-capped catamaran with a black powder-coated stainless-steel rubrail was built using the Vacuum Infused Resin process. Lamination materials include balsa coring and carbon-fiber reinforcement.

The 31-footer is—quite simply—loaded. Features include an Alcantara interior that extends under the boat’s deck and into its cuddy cabin area. Matching carpet with shaved diamonds in the fabric completes the attractive interior package.

Electronics include a pair of nine-inch Simrad NSS9 Evo3 touchscreen monitors and a nine-inch Garmin 922 center plotter, as well as two Garmin GMi20 units—one in the back of each bucket seat headrest—and a rearview “back-up” video camera. For tunes, the customer went with DCB’s Stage IV stereo package with a Fusion head unit, four JL Audio amplifiers, 12 JL Audio midrange speakers and four 12-inch JL Audio W6 subwoofers. The cockpit’s interior Rigid LED lighting package includes mood lighting, courtesy lights and LED-equipped cupholders.

Among the M31’s additional noteworthy features are DTS controls from Livorsi Marine and SeaDek flooring between the engine hatches and on the steps leading into the cockpit. Adrenaline Trailers built a custom, triple-axle trailer for the boat with 20-inch American Force rims, stainless-steel fenders and a drive guard and an LED lighting package.
