Deep Impact 360 Open to Lead the Way in Cocoa Beach
In a press release Wednesday, Deep Impact Boats announced its involvement in the 2014 Thunder on Cocoa Beach Space Coast Super Boat Grand Prix. The Miami-based boat builder is partnering with Super Boat International (SBI) to provide the pace boat—a 360 Open center console—for this Sunday’s offshore race in Cocoa Beach, Fla.
Powered by four color-matched Mercury Verado 300 engines, Deep Impact‘s 360 Open will be the pace boat for Sunday’s SBI race in Cocoa Beach.
Along with the exposure from being the fifth annual event’s designated pace boat, Deep Impact will participate in a variety of happenings starting Friday evening with the Super Boat Street Party. After riding through the streets of Cocoa Beach, the red 360 Open with quad Mercury Verado 300 engines will be on display at the VIP party at Coconuts on the Beach. The 36-footer also will be in the dry pits all day Saturday.
On Sunday, after starting the races, the 360 Open will sit in the middle of the course with a diver on board in order to ensure safety to all participants and be readily available to help with any emergencies. According to the release, the company is ecstatic to play such a fundamental role in the event.
