Despite Weather, SBI Key West Worlds Sunday Schedule On Track
As forecasted earlier in the week for the final day of the Super Boat International Key West Offshore World Championships, overcast skies and scattered thunderstorms have moved into Key West, Fla., and are predicted to remain the area throughout the day, with a chance of precipitation ranging from 45 to 60 percent. The wind, which currently is coming out of the southwest will range from 11- to 13 mph and, though predicted dimish slightly later in the day, turn west-southwest by 2 p.m., approximately 30 minutes before the start of the final race of the day.

Seas for the region are predicted to be 3 to 5 feet.
The threatening skies and less-than-ideal forecast do not have SBI officials presently planning any postponements for today’s four races, which are scheduled to start at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. You can watch them all live here.
“We are running the same distance as Friday, and still running four races,” said an SBI source. “If the aircraft cannot fly, then we delay.”
