Doller Offshore Sells First Sunsation 32 CCX

Rather than deliver its first 32 CCX to Captain’s Choice Boats in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., as planned following this week’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, Sunsation Boats will be handing over the 32-foot center console powered by twin Mercury Marine Verado 350 engines to a new customer from New Jersey.

The first 32 CCX from Sunsation Boats was sold before making its debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show tomorrow.

In preparation for display at the boat show, the 32 CCX, which was recently water tested (read the story) near the Sunsation facility in Algonac, Mich., was delivered to Sunsation’s South Florida dealer, Doller Offshore Marine. It didn’t take long for Michael Snyder to make an offer after going out with Mindi Doller and her crew in the boat’s first sea trial in the Atlantic Ocean. He said he was immediately sold on the 32-footer.

“I’ve owned more than 30 boats in my life—everything from Boston Whalers to 40-foot motor yachts—and I used to race a Pantera in APBA’s Maryland Cup, and I have yet to drive a boat with the perfect design until I discovered this Sunsation,” said Snyder, who cut a check on the spot after returning to the dock. “When Mindi told me that the 32 CCX was coming to her facility, I had to check it out. It was the perfect day for a sea trial. It was raining and snotty, and I was amazed by its rock-solid ride and precise handling. I thought if the boat performs this well in these conditions, I can’t image how great it will be in normal weather and seas.”

Doller figured Synder might be interested in the boat, which will be on display at the H/I Hi-Performance docks starting tomorrow through Monday (Nov. 9).

“Michael knows boats, and knew immediately that this was the boat for him,” Doller said. “And I’ve got to tell you, that after that first trial, this boat with Tres Martin’s new bottom design is going to set a new standard of performance for sport center consoles.”
