Donzi Delivers First Factory-Direct Model

Donzi has delivered its first 35 ZFX Cuddy center console model built through the Washington, N.C., boat builder’s new Factory-Direct Program, according to a press release from Baja Marine, the parent company for the Baja, Donzi and Fountain sportboat and center console lines. The company announced that it was taking all Donzi and Fountain sales in house earlier this year. (Read the story.)

“What happens is a customer will call or email an inquiry, and we discuss their needs for everything from performance and engine packages to hull color and custom upholstery,” said Johnny Walker, the chief executive officer of Baja Marine, in the release. “Between myself and engineer David Hardison, we can answer all their questions. The customer also can come down for a factory tour and meet everyone in person.”

The sale included a performance trial of the boat on the Pamlico River behind the plant for the new owner, as well as a tour of the production facility.
