Although Eliminator Boats won’t be exhibiting at this week’s Los Angeles Boat Show, the Mira Loma, Calif., go-fast V-bottom and catamaran builder’s business is the best it’s been in several years. That’s the word from company owner Bob Leach, who founded the company in 1969.

“These past six years have been the toughest since I’ve been in the boat manufacturing business,” Leach said in a press release from Eliminator. “But it looks like patience and perseverance is finally starting to pay off. We currently have more boats on order and in production since the beginning of the economic decline in 2007. And it’s a mix of all sizes, both cats and V-bottoms. In fact, our production schedule is so tight that we can’t even afford to take time to exhibit at the 2014 L.A. Boat Show. We’ve made commitments to our customers to deliver boats on time, and that’s what we intend to do.”

During the Los Angeles event, which runs Feb. 6-9, Eliminator will hold an open house at its facility that includes shop tours and complimentary lunch and refreshments. The company also will offer “special boat show pricing” throughout February, according to Leach.

“I think everyone will be impressed by what we have in production,” Leach said in the release. “They’re some of the best boats we’ve built in our 44-year history.”

Most recently, Eliminator finished and tested a new 30-foot Daytona catamaran with a pair of Mercury Racing new 565 engines for a customer in New York. With “conservative propping,” according to the release, the 30-footer reportedly runs 110 to 120 mph. At present, nine new builds are in production at the Eliminator factory including a 33-foot Daytona open bow with twin Mercury Racing 565s, 380 and 340 Eagle XP V-bottoms for customers in Nigeria and a 26-foot Daytona also heading to New York in the next few weeks.
