Extra Large Deliveries from MTI this Week

Over the last few days on Missouri’s Lake of the Ozarks—some gorgeous Fall days nonetheless—Marine Technology Inc. (MTI) has delivered two stunning high-performance catamarans to a couple of customers who have owned boats from the Wentzville, Mo., builder before. Besides the fact that two deliveries of such large boats over two days is impressive and newsworthy, it’s notable that one customer, well-known performance boater Johnny O’Loughlin of New York, moved up from a 48 MTI to a 52 MTI, while the other customer, Missouri’s Chris Eirvin, sold his quad-outboard-powered MTI-V 42 center console when he ordered his new 48-foot catamaran.

In general, the differences end there. The new cats are absolutely beautiful and a pair of Mercury Racing 1350 engines coupled with M8 drives power each one. They were both painted in-house by MTI and they’re both equipped with eight seats thanks to MTI’s spacious cockpit design.

Tim Gallagher, MTI’s sales and marketing manager, said that O’Loughlin—who everyone knows as “Johnny O”—was all smiles while driving his black and green 52-footer. The prior owner of the Terminator 48 MTI that was repowered a few years back with twin Mercury 1350s, O’Loughlin was very involved in selecting all of the details with this build, his first with MTI (he built three new Outerlimits models with the late Mike Fiore). With a striking green, black and blue color scheme, the MTI is hard to miss, and the detail within is just as impressive.
