Farnsworth Orders Mystic M3900, Prepping Low Altitude for Lake of the Ozarks Shootout

In claiming the fastest overall speed at three top-speed shootout events in April, June and July in Low Altitude, his turbine-powered 50-foot catamaran from Mystic Powerboats, Colorado performance boater Win Farnsworth realizes that he’s the odds-on favorite to take home this year’s Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Top Gun trophy at the Central Missouri event at the end of this month. And that’s OK with him.

“I’m not sure how fast we’ll be able to run at the Shootout, but I think if we can get into the 190-mph range we should have a good shot of winning the overall Top Gun,” Farnsworth said. “We ran 183 mph at the Desert Storm Poker Run in Lake Havasu and we didn’t have a lot of seat time, plus the engines weren’t at full power. We’ll be turning the engines back to 1,850 hp so we’ll see how it goes. Either way the boat should be pretty competitive.”

Farnsworth, who brought his twin Mercury Racing 1350-powered DCB Performance Boats M41 Widebody Silver Lining (which is currently for sale) to the Shootout the last two years, informed speedonthewater.com that he ordered a new M3900 luxury performance center console from Mystic last week.

The boat, which Farnsworth said is primarily for his wife, Melissa, is going to feature quad Mercury Racing Verado 400R engines and will be ready in time for the 2016 Miami International Boat Show.

“We’re picking out colors for the center console now,” said Farnsworth, who recently helped raise $80,000 for Jason’s Friends Foundation during the 11th annual Casper Boat Club “Super Heroes” Poker Run on Wyoming’s Alcova Reservoir in July (read the story). “It’s going to be a fun build. We can’t for February.”
