Coinciding with the recent opening of its Key West location, BurgerFi is teaming up with Fastboats.com to sponsor the Superboat class team at the Super Boat International Key West Offshore World Championships.

Owned and throttled by Randy Sweers and driven by Tony Fiorillo, the 40-foot Marine Technology Inc. catamaran, which is powered by twin 750-hp engines from Potter Performance, is expected to be part of the most exciting racing class in Key West thanks to a potential field of eight or more boats.

“Randy and I have been friends for a long time,” said Gino Gargiulo, a well-known performance boat enthusiast who is part-owner of the new Key West burger franchise (see story on new location). “We used to race against each other for years. He and his team are very professional and from our neighborhood so we thought it was a perfect fit. We are thrilled to be part of the team.”

Sweers, who owns Fastboats.com of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has won 10 world championships in Key West and is hoping to add another one to the list next week.

Gargiulo’s Clearly Exotic Car Coverings, which creates stylish and protective custom wraps for cars, trucks, boats, etc., designed and applied the graphics for the 40-footer as well as the team’s trucks cars and support equipment.
