Fort Myers Offshore Adds End-Of-April Overnight Event

With its primary focus on single-day lunch runs in Southwest Florida, it’s been awhile—five years to be exact—since Fort Myers Offshore produced an overnight event for its members. But that will change this month with a lunch/dinner run from the Sanibel Island to the Naples Hyatt House Hotel, which is scheduled for April 30-May 1.

The event fleet will depart from the Sanibel Island Bridge, the starting for point for all Fort Myers Offshore events, promptly at 11 a.m.

Though the event is dubbed “an invitational overnight run,” it is open to all members of the nonprofit scholarship fundraising club.

Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats has signed on as the presenting sponsor for the happening, which follows on the heels of its annual dealer meeting at the Westin Cape Coral Resort. Once the group arrives at the Naples Hyatt, it will enjoy a catered lunch prepared by the chefs at the on-site Latitude 26 restaurant. A dinner celebration with a DJ will follow that evening at the Hyatt venue.

Club president Tim Hill said that he and his fellow board members are hoping to hold an auction benefitting the club’s scholarship fund during Saturday night’s party.

“Fort Myers Offshore has raised and distributed over $300,000.00 in scholarships to worthy Southwest Florida students during the years,” he said. “f you have an item you would like to donate to the auction please contact me or my wife, Cyndee, who also is an FMO board member, to discuss.”

The group will depart the Hyatt Sunday morning after breakfast, most likely at 11 a.m.

“Some may choose to leave earlier or later,” said Hill. “Perhaps some will want to stop for lunch as we get close to home with their group. We will leave it up to each to make their own plans on that.”
