Fountain Powerboats in Washington, N.C., is continuing to expand its dealer network according to John Walker, the chief executive officer for the company. Fountain dealers also will be able to carry models from Fountain’s sister companies Baja and Pro-Line, which like Fountain are owned by Liberty Associates. However, most likely won’t offer the Donzi brand as Fountain and Donzi offer competitive sportboat and center console lines.

“We’re hoping to have 15 to 20 Fountain dealers in U.S.,” said Walker. “Obviously, that doesn’t count our international dealers.

“We are slowly producing dealer inventory,” he added.

Fountain will continue to build its dealer network this year and in 2012, said Walker.

Current and would-be Fountain dealers will be required to have Fountain models in their showrooms, which means floor-planning. Walker did not specify how many models each Fountain dealer is or will be required to have on site.

“They have to have Fountain models in their showrooms,” he said. “Otherwise, they can’t be a Fountain dealer.”
