Full Slate of DCBs On Tap for Shootout, Super Cat Fest

With six of the company’s M35 Widebody catamarans set to be on display at this week’s Super Cat Fest at Camden on the Lake Resort in Lake Ozark, Mo.—not to mention the first M41 Widebody and an impressive F32 cat with 2,000-plus hp—DCB Performance Boats is expecting to command a lot of attention between the fifth annual event it sponsors and the 27th annual Lake of the Ozarks Shootout.

DCB representatives Tony Chiaramonte and Jeff Johnston will be in attendance and are excited about the company’s increased participation by customers from as far as Arizona, California, Colorado, Oklahoma and Tennessee.

Southern California’s Travis and Summer Richardson—the couple behind My Garage App, a popular social media app for motorsports enthusiasts of all types—are excited to be hauling their F32 catamaran with twin 1,025-hp Teague Custom Marine engines out to Lake of the Ozarks. They left Lake Havasu City, Ariz., with Dave Megugorac, who owns a yellow M35 with twin Mercury Racing 1350 engines, to join a DCB caravan in Flagstaff, Ariz., that includes Chiaramonte and John Chilton, who also owns an M35 with twin 1350s.

As Travis pointed out, his wife, who was Queen of the Desert in April after running 143 mph at the Desert Storm Poker Run Shootout in Lake Havasu, is looking to become the fastest woman to ever run a boat on the Shootout course. Of course she and the King of the Desert—Win Farnsworth, who owns Silver Lining and the turbine-powered 50-foot Mystic Low Altitude that he ran 182 mph on Lake Havasu—are looking to be Top Guns in Missouri.

Also of note, the outrageous M35 Lickity Split that was featured in the May/June issue of Speed On The Water magazine (download the issue here), will be making its event debut, and owner JP O’Donoghue can’t wait. Upon arriving in Kansas City, O’Donoghue is planning to pay a visit to Mark Morris and company at Visual Imagination in Peculiar, Mo., the outfit that handle his 35-footer’s gloriously green paint job. From there he’ll meet up with Chiaramonte at the lake, who will have been joined at that point by Carlton Bass, Will Miller and Jake Nossaman in their 35-footers.

For the West Coast custom boat builder, the grouping of its boats halfway across the country from its El Cajon, Calif., facility at Camden on the Lake Resort speaks volumes of the company’s growth—and should provide quite a sight.
