Gargiulo Excited to Debut Lambo-Themed 48 MTI in Tampa

After an impressive showing at the Miami International Boat Show—and even some mainstream media attention (see CNCB.com and CNN.com reports) that followed—Gino Gargiulo is excited to finally get to run his unbelievable 48-foot catamaran from Marine Technology Inc. (MTI) at the Florida Powerboat Club‘s Tampa Bay Poker Run this week.

With a fun run Friday and the poker run Saturday, Gargiulo’s bright yellow Lamborghini-inspired 48 MTI is sure to be the star of the show. Powered by twin Mercury Racing 1650 engines, the boat, which was painted by Visual Imagination and features MTI’s restyled deck, was inspired by Gargiulo’s special Aventador built to commemorate Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary called the LP720-4 50° ANNIVERSARIO.

“I have built and owned some beautiful boats but nothing even comes close to the workmanship and detail that MTI put into this one,” said Gargiulo, who will be joined in Tampa by his close friend Larry Goldman of Xtreme Powerboats in Miami.

Goldman, who brokered the deal, was extremely hands-on throughout the entire build making several trips from South Florida to MTI’s Missouri and Wisconsin factories. In fact, last week he was with MTI owner Randy Scism for the boat’s shakedown run before it left for Florida.

Scism said he was very pleased with how the boat turned out.

“I think it’s amazing—the lines are phenomenal and the teardrop look of the cockpit is a hit,” Scism said. “The boat ran great during our shakedown. It was super stable and everything worked like it was supposed to. I guess they’re going to go play this weekend.”
