Image Of The Week: A Quick Statement On Tampa Bay

Thanks to the Florida Powerboat Club’s Tampa Bay Poker Run, there were plenty of new high-performance boats on the famed Southwest Florida waterway last weekend. Among those was a striking Statement Marine 360 catamaran powered by twin Mercury Racing 450R outboard engines and owned by the father-and-son duo of Ralph and Daniel Munyan of nearby Clearwater. (If the name sounds familiar, Ralph Munyan is the brother of well-known go-fast boat enthusiast general bon vivant Bill Munyan.)

With a 150 gallons of fuel and full of gear and people, the Munyans reportedly coaxed the cat to 120 mph last weekend.

“With a light load, we’ve seen 124 mph,” Daniel Munyan said. “I’m thinking we can do better, but we are set up for acceleration.

“We’re extremely happy with the boat,” he added.

According to Statement Marine’s Craig Barrie, the Munyan’s 36-footer was “the first official” 360 model to be finished by the company. And while we haven’t yet experienced it firsthand, the 36-footer—as well as its final iteration—looks to be a stunner.
