Image of the Week: Beauty And The Biker

Far from new, My Way, Canadian Bill Tomlinson’s red-hot Mystic catamaran, remains one of those boats that stops you in your tracks every time you see it. It doesn’t matter who you are or how many times you’ve caught the iconic 50-foot turbine-powered cat—the former Lake of the Ozarks Shootout record holder (read the story)—in action, My Way is a jaw-dropper.

During the Poker Run America’s 2014 Alexandria Bay Hall of Fame Poker Run in New York in June, My Way snagged its usual ton of attention including that of one unidentified Hells Angel with his dog. And Rodney Olson of Hammer Down Boating, offshore powerboat racing’s hottest fan page, was there to capture both the Angel and the objects of his affection in the same frame. (The dog, as you can see from the image when you click to enlarge it, seemed more interested in Olson than My Way.)

“I spoke with him for a while,” said Olson. “Great guy. He was finishing up his boat with twin 700s. He is a member of the Hells Angels in Rochester. They call themselves the Fast Pack.”

Maybe next year, if his boat is finished in time, he’ll get to see My Way from the water while it runs. That’s the ultimate view, even for an Angel.
