Image of the Week Exclusive: Cigarette’s Miami Mystery
We’ve done our best at speedonthewater.com during the past few weeks to let you know what’s coming at the 2013 Miami International Boat Show. (Read the story, “Countdown to Miami: The Complete Series.”) Still, there always are more than a few surprises.
This image is from Cigarette Racing Team and is related to the company’s coming Miami Boat Show news. So what do you think it means? Your guess is as good as ours.
Case in point is the image above, which comes from our contacts at Cigarette Racing Team in Opa-Locka, Fla. We already know that Cigarette will display a Mercedes-AMG-inspired 42’ Huntress, yet another product of the collaboration between the luxury automobile and performance boat brands. But Skip Braver, the owner and chief executive officer of Cigarette, insists that the biggest news is yet to come—and that we’ll have to wait for it.
“We are going to be unveiling an unbelievable new technology that’s the result of a collaboration between Cigarette and AMG,” Braver said in a recent article on this site.
Clearly, the image captures the color-matched body lines of a car and the deck lines of a boat. But which car—and which boat? And is that interpretation of the photo content simply too literal? Does the photo point to something between Cigarette Racing Team and Mercedes-AMG that is broader and farther-reaching?
Until Thursday, Feb. 14, at 10:45 a.m. at the Cigarette display inside the Miami Convention Center, it looks like we’ll all just have to guess.
