Image Of The Week: DCB Breaks Own Formation Record

During the late-August Lake of the Ozarks Shootout and concurrent Super Cat Fest events in Central Missouri, eight DCB Performance Boats catamaran owners ran in a then-record-setting formation of models from the El Cajon, Calif., company. And speedonthewater.com chief photographer Pete Boden was there to capture the image.

A Saturday morning photo shoot following the DCB Regatta in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., captured a record-setting nine DCB catamarans—all of the M37R variety—running in formation. Photos by Tom Leigh copyright Tommy Gun Images.

That record fell last Saturday morning following the two-day DCB Owners Regatta on Lake Havasu in Arizona. And this time around photographer Tom Leigh was on hand to nail the shot.

But while the eight-cat Lake of the Ozarks record was set by several different DCB models, last Saturday’s record on Lake Havasu was set by nine M37R Widebody catamarans powered by Mercury Racing 450R outboard engines.

As you can see from the slideshow above, Leigh caught the action from several angles, though not every image captured all of the boats in the same frame. No matter, Leigh got the money-shot and DCB set a new bar.
