Image Of The Week: Mad Props In Your Face

For the second year in a row, speedonthewater.com chief photographer Pete Boden organized a New Year’s Eve photo shoot in advance of the annual Joey Gratton Memorial Day Fun Run in Sarasota, Fla. And for the second year in a row, a 32-foot Skater Powerboats catamaran called Mad Props and owned by Greg Harris of South Florida, was among the colorful boats that took center stage.

One year to the date, Greg Harris and his longtime girlfriend Yvonne Aleman ran Mad Props for a spectacular New Year’s Eve photo shoot (click image to enlarge). Photo courtesy/copyright Pete Boden/Shoot 2 Thrill Pix.

But while last year’s New Year’s Even photo shoot was born out of urgency—Boden needed to capture images in advance of a coming storm that would end up scrubbing the on-water portion of the 2018 Gratton event—this one had been planned for weeks. And once again, between the water colors of Sarasota Bay and the go-fast catamarans and V-bottoms scooting across it, the result were spectacular.

Boden snagged an array of stunning images, but the photo of Mad Props above—figuratively and photographically—jumped out at us.
