Image of the Week: Merry Christmas from Speedonthewater.com and Jay Nichols

Looking at this image from Jay Nichols, I was reminded of a dumb joke I heard as a kid.  What do a cat and Christmas on the beach have in common?

They both have sandy claws.

I know, I know, it’s horrible. Again, I heard it as a kid. I said it was dumb. I meant it.

Nichols captured this image of Mr. Kris Kringle strolling among a crowd of Florida sun worshippers on Fort Myers Beach. If you look closely at the image, you’ll see a range of reactions from delight to indifference. Those reactions, plus the jolly man in red himself, make this picture a winner.

“He was the most popular guy on the beach,” says Nichols. “All the girls had to have a photo taken with him—he had more bikinis hanging on him than the deck railing at a beach house.”
