Image of the Week: Nor-Tech Knows How to Throw a Party

Part of what makes the Florida Powerboat Club’s Key West Poker Run such a hit is Saturday’s fun run to Boca Grande Key. With record-setting numbers making the run to the Key West National Wildlife Refuge island, which is about 14 miles west of Key West, this year, the gathering of boats beached on the narrow stretch of white sand or rafted off each other was best described as “epic” by speedonthewater.com’s Matt Trulio (see Fun Run To Boca Grande Key Pulls In 200-Plus Boats).

One group of boats consisting of primarily all Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats customers couldn’t help but have a good time. Immediately upon arriving at the island in a pair of center consoles loaded with 15 people apiece, the Nor-Tech crew went to work. I’ve yet to see this on a boat before, and who knows if it will catch on as an option for Nor-Tech customers, but out came a DJ mixing table as well as a giant speaker tower.

It took a few guys to get the speakers up on top of the T-top of the 39-foot center console tied up to Cody and Veronica Lovins’ 420 Monte Carlo, but once they were in place, DJ Ryan Coxx took center stage in the stylish 42-footer. Mixing current hits with old-school jams, Coxx, who is from Louisville and DJ’d the Nor-Tech party at the Lake Cumberland Poker Run in September, took the raft-up to the next level for a couple of hours.

Afterward one thing was for sure—Nor-Tech knows how to throw one heck of a party.
