Image Of The Week Part: Bridge Under Troubled Water, Part II
From what I experienced firsthand during the past two weekends covering poker runs in Sweden, bridge-washing via powerboat rooster-tails is a tradition among Swedish poker run participants. And the Swedes appear to have it down to an art.

The lower the bridge, the easier the job at hand, and thanks to its relatively low height the Söderbärke Bridge across a narrow section of Lake Norra Barken made it a breeze for Christer Wahlmstedt’s 36-foot Apache called Twistana during last Saturday’s Smedjebacken Poker Run. The owner of Varmdo Mototeknik, the Mercury Racing/Mercury Marine dealership in Stockholm, Wahlmstedt had his son Fredrik, at the helm of the vintage 1992 V-bottom powered by twin 1,200-hp engines.
To the delight of the people on waiting bridge waiting to be doused, this scene was repeated many times during the day. That the day was overcast, cool and even rainy at times didn’t seem to make a difference.
After all, tradition is tradition.
