Image of the Week: Perfect Sticker Placement

Excuse the shameless self-promotion, but this Pete Boden shot of the Saris Racing Engines offshore racing team during Friday’s race at the Offshore Powerboat Association’s National/World Championships in Englewood Beach, Fla., was too good to pass up. When racer-turned-reporter Johnny Saris asked us for the speedonthewater.com logo to make a sticker for his raceboat, we had no idea the placement would be so perfect.

We know we’re a teensy bit biased, but we think our speedonthewater.com sticker is the perfect complement to the Saris Racing Engines V-bottom (click image to enlarge). Photo courtesy/copyright Pete Boden/Shoot 2 Thrill Pix.

Saris Racing Engines is one of more than 40 high-performance marine companies that are advertising in the upcoming 132-page Speed On The Water Year In Review print magazine, which you can order by clicking here. You didn’t expect the self-promotion to stop, did you?

But more than that, Saris Racing Engines and speedonthewater.com have enjoyed a great relationship during the past six years, so when Johnny Saris offered to report from the OPA Nationals/Worlds—and his team claimed both titles in their class on Friday and Sunday—we were delighted to accept. Not only is Saris a seasoned racer as is his father, Jason, he’s a good writer. (His recently finished college education certainly didn’t hurt.)
