Image of the Week: Skater Classic

For the perfect mix of beauty and brawn, it’s hard to touch a 46-foot Skater catamaran. And captured in this image by photographer Jay Nichols, this stunner called Freedom US 1 by owner Jim Lee is an absolute classic.

“I caught this one of Jim Lee with a full crew in the 46 running fast during the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in 2012,” said Nichols. “This is the first time this photo has been published.”

Of course, the passenger-filled catamaran wasn’t running on the mile-long course when this photo was taken during last year’s event. But for the second year in a row, the 46-foot stunner took the Shootout’s “Best Engine Compartment” award.
