Image Of The Week: The Slowest Catamaran In Key West

Much of the editorial content for the 2018 Speed On The Water Year In Review print magazine, which will be published and distributed in January, has already been laid out. But my speedonthewater.com co-publisher Jason Johnson and I are still choosing photos—and coming across some previously unpublished gems—for the People section of the issue.

Truth be told, it’s one of our favorite standing departments of the annual 196-page collectible edition. From choosing photos to writing captions, it’s also one of the most challenging to assemble.

Most recently, we discovered this delightful image taken last month by speedonthewater.com chief photographer Pete Boden during the Super Boat International and Florida Powerboat Club happenings in Key West. And we’re dead-certain the catamaran in the photo is slowest and smallest—not to mention lowest-horsepower—one we’ve ever seen in the city at the end of the road.

OK, the shot won’t make the cut for Year In Review. But it just might bring a smile to your face today. Plus, it provides one heck of a contrast to Monday’s Gallery of the Week.
