Image Of The Week: Three Faces Of Skaterfest
Who wouldn’t want to take delivery of a gorgeous new Skater Powerboats 368 catamaran powered by Mercury Racing 1100 engines during the most important Skater-centric event of the year? That’s a rhetorical question, of course, and exactly what happened yesterday during the ninth annual weekend-long Skaterfest event in Harrison Township, Mich.

The boat belonged to Skatefest organizer Ron Szolack. The new owner is Bill Munyan, an experienced high-performance boat enthusiast out of St. Petersburg, Fla., who brought his son (and favorite boating companion), Jack, to the Detroit-area happening for the delivery.
For Szolack, the delivery was a Skaterfest first. While he has sold more than a few of his own Skater cats at the event during the years, until yesterday he had never delivered one while it was going on.
What’s more, to surprise the other Skatefest guests, Szolack and the Munyans, who are well-known and popular in Skater-owner circles, kept the sale on the downlow until yesterday. Almost no one knew they were coming until they showed up at the Metropark docks on the shores of Lake St. Clair to claim their new prize.
Now the cat is out of the bag.
Said Szolack, “They ran it yesterday and loved it.”
