Image Of The Week: Tilt, Take Two

Dubbed “Weekend At Ronnie’s,” last weekend’s informal gathering of 14 Skater Powerboats catamarans in the Detroit Metro area boasted some of the best-known hardware on the water from the Douglas, Mich., builder. Among those rides was Tilt, Ed Tirakian’s vibrant 40-footer, and speedonthewater.com chief photographer Pete Boden captured it roaring on the St. Clair River. Tirakian was joined in the 40-foot cat that was fully made over by Boat Customs in 2019 by fellow Skater Nation member Vinnie Rifice of New York.

When it comes to color contrast, the combination of Tilt and the St. Clair River is tough to beat. Photos by Pete Boden/Shoot 2 Thrill Pix.

This isn’t the first time the fiery Skater boiling the St. Clair River has caught Boden’s attention and been featured as an Image of the Week. During Skaterfest 2019, he captured another gem of the catamaran on the St. Clair River.

As you can see from the image below, the 2019 image was taken from above. The photo above was captured at water level.

Both are proof positive that Tilt and the St. Clair River are a winning combination—from any angle.

In 2019, the Tilt catamaran also combined with the St. Clair River to earn Image of the Week status.
