Instigator Life Of The Party In New NBC Sports Key West Teaser Video
No offshore powerboat racer enjoys the sport more—in all aspects—than multi-time Superboat Extreme-class world champion Peter Meyer of the Instigator team. For more than 30 years, Meyer has been one of offshore racing’s biggest boosters and greatest benefactors. Running mostly uncontested during the 2016 season in the AMH Construction/Instigator Fountain V-bottom, Meyer, who throttles the boat, and driver Johnny Stanch never failed to put on a good show for the fans. And that’s the focus of the latest teaser video for the upcoming final segment of the three-part NBC Sports television program covering the 2016 Super Boat International World Championships in Key West, Fla.

Two things always exist in the Instigator camp during events—plenty of food and cold refreshments for all, and an endless line of big names in the sport, from Reggie Fountain to Billy Mauff, dropping by to say hello. That Meyer left Key West with yet another Superboat Extreme-class world title is almost incidental to the number of folks, from luminaries to fans in the street, who felt right at home and had a great time in the AMH/Instigator team pits during the week.

Says a racing commentator in a voiceover at the beginning of the minute-and-a-half promotional video, “They are veterans in the sport and they know how to throw a party.”
