Kinetic Animation Wrapping Away

Though restaurant dining rooms and bars are closed by order of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Miami-Dade County has shut down all beaches, marinas and launch ramps in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, across the state in Bradenton Kinetic Animation’s Ryan Beckley is moving forward with graphic design and wrap projects. Beckley, a veteran Super Stock-class offshore racer who serves much of the racing and go-fast pleasure-boat world, is busy.

“I just finished a wrap on a new 27-foot Concept center console and I am finishing up a wrap on a 32-foot Doug Wright catamaran,” he said. “I’m also doing some design work for another 32-foot Doug Wright cat, a 46-foot Cigarette and 28-foot Skater cat. And we’re going to be re-wrapping Chris LaMorte’s 36-foot Skater.”

Like his fellow racers, Beckley is preparing for the upcoming offshore season as if it will—as currently scheduled—kick off May 14-17 with the American Power Boat Association Offshore Championship Series season-opener in Cocoa Beach, Fla. He’s in the process of servicing the outboard engines, which have been removed from his 30-foot Skater Powerboats S-111 raceboat. He will repaint the boat and add its requisite vinyl graphics, and then reinstall its twin 300-hp engines.

“We also have some graphics work to do on the Pro Floors raceboat,” he said.

As are many of his fellow offshore racers, Beckley is worried about how the novelcoronavirus outbreak will affect the 2020 season.

“I am a bit concerned about the upcoming offshore racing season, obviously, as we have a lot riding on it,” said Beckley, who took home an Offshore Powerboat Association Super Stock-Class World Championship in Englewood Beach, Fla., last year. “We have stuff going on and are moving forward, but my guess is that the race season could be delayed.”

Beckley has several ongoing graphics projects in addition to prepping his own raceboat for the upcoming offshore racing season.
