Lake Cumberland Poker Run Called Off

According to an announcement from the organizers of the Lake Cumberland Poker Run hosted by State Dock Marina in Jamestown, Ky., this year’s event, which was scheduled for September 11-13, has been cancelled.

“Due to the recent spike in Coronavirus cases, the State of Kentucky has rolled back gatherings to less than 10 people and requires face masks in public areas,” the post on the State Dock website stated. “After several planning sessions and feedback from the State of Kentucky regarding groups of 10 or more, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s annual Poker Run held at State Dock Marina. We look forward to this event each year as it is the highlight and culmination of our season. The event has grown over the years and is now one of the premier events on Lake Cumberland.

“Many of you have reservations with us this year and we hope that you will still enjoy the lake and a vacation away from the daily grind with us at State Dock,” the release continued. “Understanding some only stay for the run, we will accommodate those with cancellations as soon as possible. The staff will be reaching out to sponsors, reservations and participants to assist in confirming, rescheduling or canceling your trip. Again, we hope to see you for a fun Holiday Weekend albeit, in compliance with the State CDC’s requirements for social distancing.”

To conclude the organizers said: “Thank you for your continued patronage of the annual State Dock Poker Run and we plan to see everybody in 2021!”
