Performance-oriented center-console V-bottom builder Deep Impact in Miami has pulled its first 39-footer out of the mold. The new model, which is the company’s largest offering to date and will be available in open and cabin versions, will be introduced at 2011 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show according to Tim Gallagher of Deep Impact.

“The first one will be an open model,” said Gallagher. “We’re hoping to have a cabin boat ready for the (2012) Miami Boat Show.”

The 39-foot Deep Impact was designed by naval architect John Cosker, the founder and owner of Mystic Powerboats in DeLand, Fla. With triple 300-hp Mercury Verado outboard engines, Gallagher said he expects the boat, which has a 10’7” beam, to run 70 mph.

Base price for the 39-footer with triple 300-hp Verado outboards will be approximately $300,000.

“Right now, were also working on the small parts with Eric Stuive, a former Douglas Marine and Tiara employee,” said Gallagher. “He’s a very talented designer.”
