A collaboration between River Dave’s Place—a popular online community and original content site catering to the West Coast custom go-fast powerboat market—and high-performance engine shop BoostPower USA in Newbury Park, Calif., an educational Webinar on the basics of electronic fuel injection systems is scheduled to begin at the 3 p.m. (PST) today. Led by Alex Sahagian of BoostPower, the Ustream broadcast—and real-time interactive chat platform accompanying it—can be viewed at riverdavesplace.com and speedonthewater.com.

River Dave’s Place founder Dave Johnson said he’s looking forward to today’s Ustream broadcast, the first in what he hopes will a series of interactive online educational opportunities for performance-boat enthusiasts around the country.

“I’m sure there will be plenty of bloopers and as we’ll be doing it live and this is the first one, but I want everyone from someone who knows nothing about boats to an experienced operator who does his own engine work to be able to get something out of it,” said Johnson. “We’ll go for about 30 minutes, and then we’ll start taking questions from people who join in the online chat session.

“I’m not doing this to promote the River Dave’s Place,” he added. “I’m doing it to help people learn a little bit more.”
