Livorsi, Mercury, Waves and Wheels and More All Set for IBEX

With move-in today and opening day tomorrow, hundreds of marine parts suppliers have descended on Louisville, Ky., for this week’s International Boatbuilder’s Exhibition and Conference (IBEX). Taking place at the Kentucky Exposition Center (Sept. 15-17), IBEX, which is owned and produced by Professional BoatBuilder magazine and the National Marine Manufacturers Association, is arguably the biggest and best trade show in the world for marine industry professionals.

Livorsi Marine will have a full display at IBEX in Louisville this week.

“I think this is our 15th or 16th year going to IBEX—it’s a can’t-miss show for us,” said Mike Livorsi, who founded Livorsi Marine more than 25 years ago and now attends the event as part of the CompX Marine team, which also owns Custom Marine Inc. “The show isn’t a retail show so we get a chance to really sit down with the OEMs and the dealers to see what they’re looking for and to showcase our new equipment. It’s a great opportunity for us to be able to see all the newly engineered products as well.”

Livorsi said they will be in full force sporting new products such as its hydraulic billet trim tabs, Platinum Series controls, digital LED position indicators, CAN Bus Vantage View gauges and a complete line of electronic and mechanical side-mount controls.

A full crew from Mercury Marine will be displaying its full range of products, including several Mercury Racing products. Mercury Racing representative Kevin Skiba will be on hand to showcase a variety equipment, including a Verado 400R outboard, a 520 engine, a Bravo Three XR drive, joystick piloting and a Stage 1 X-haust Noise Reducer system.

Between composites, electronics, components, flooring, stereos, trailers and much more, IBEX is the show to find everything needed to build a boat.

For the first time, Waves and Wheels in Osage Beach, Mo., will be attending IBEX to show off its product offerings, which range from simple boat stereo systems and major interior overhauls to one-of-a-kind audio/video installations for boats, trailers and tow vehicles.

“I’m excited to do IBEX—it’s going to be a neat opportunity for us to show the marine world that we carry the most premium equipment for the market,” said Waves and Wheels owner Justin Wagner. “We’ve got an awesome display that my shop manager Josh Roark worked on all weekend. We’re hoping to get some good exposure beyond the performance boat market. Through working with companies like Statement Marine, Mystic Powerboats, MTI and more, we have the credibility. We just need to let people know we offer products and consulting for different segments of the boating industry, and I think IBEX is the place to do so.”
