Melley and Tagge Memorial Services Set for Next Week
The memorial services for performance boaters Jim Melley and Garth Tagge, who died from a tragic accident along the Potomac River on the border of Maryland and Virginia on Saturday, Oct. 15, have been scheduled for next Wednesday and Thursday in their home state of Georgia.

The 49-year-old Melley and 61-year-old Tagge—longtime top-speed shootout participants—were running their Skater Powerboats 36-foot catamaran in the Potomac River Radar Run event when the boat flipped and ejected both competitors.
The memorial service for Melley, who is from Buford and is survived by his wife, Jodi, and twin sons, Jacob and Jordan, is set for Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m. at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel and Gardens, which is located at 3481 Hamilton Mill Road in Buford.
The services for Tagge, who is from Atlanta and survived by his wife, Lynn, and son, Kent, are scheduled for Thursday at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, which is located at 3740 Holtzclaw Rd., in Cumming.
