During the opening of the Houston Boat Show yesterday, Mercury Racing unveiled its new Revolution 4 XP and Revolution 4 XC propeller lines. The news was announced in a press release from the Fond du Lac, Wis., high-performance engine, propeller and marine products company.

According to the release, Mercury Racing Revolution 4 XP propellers provide “extreme precision when dialing in multi-engine, stepped-bottom performance center consoles (with three- to five-engine installations) and single-engine bay boats.” The props are designed to work particularly well with the Mercury Marine Verado 350 and Mercury Racing Verado 400R outboards engines, and are offered in an 18- to 25-1/2-inch pitch range with pitches in one-half inch increments.

“The one-half inch pitch offerings enable engines to be dialed-in to their maximum rpm operating range for enhanced throttle response, optimized cruise fuel efficiency and top speed,” according to the release.

Geared toward the single outboard-engine flats boat market, Mercury Racing’s Revolution 4 XC propellers come in 15- and 17-inch pitches with a diameters of 14.8 inches. According to the release, the propellers feature “an extreme amount of blade cup. The enhanced cup enables the engine to be run at elevated transom heights without sacrificing performance, which is particularly beneficial for flats boats running in shallow water.”
